I love fabric.
My Nana loved fabric too. She sewed her own clothes and had fabric stashed in her closets and under her bed.
My Mom loves to paint, not sew. But she encouraged me to sew when I was young. I remember the first article of clothing I made, a plaid jumper. It came out very well. I think Mom helped me make it more than she let me know. Needless to say, I'm old enough to have worn plaid jumpers as a little girl.
I made my first quilt, a twin size bedspread for my son, over 20 years ago. I've been hooked since. Quilting has come a long way in those 20 years. And now like my Nana did, I too have a stash. I absolutely love the clear bright colors of today's fabrics and can't have enough. They make the most beautiful quilts.
